IP System Phones & IP PBX Equipment

Traditional PBX phone systems are replacing their analogue (PSTN) lines (trunks) and digital channels (ISDN2E & ISDN30E) with IP (Internet Protocol) telephony. This will enable the user to make calls over the internet, via their LAN (local area / office network) using VoIP (Voice over IP). All this is ultimately through their broadband connection (ADSL or SDSL).

As these PBX systems are changed they will use a mixture of traditional telephony and VoIP. For the VoIP side, they will require new IP phones. These are specific to the make and model of the systems, i.e. a Meridian Option system will use Meridian IP phones, an Avaya Definity system will use Avaya IP phones, etc.

Products of this sort are system specific IP phones. They will not work on any other system, or independently, without the system.

IP PBX Equipment

In order to migrate these systems to the newer technology, they will require new hardware. In some cases it may be a keycode, in others it will involve a new card or cassette to upgrade. This equipment is manufacturer specific.

A whole spectrum of these products are available to fulfil the requirements of most systems from all the major manufacturers.

IP PBX System Phones

If you have a PBX with VoIP, or IP extensions, you will normally require the dedicated IP PBX phone, or range of phones that are made for that system. These phones are all IP phones that are system specific they will not work on a basic VoIP or IP connection. Please make sure that you have the correct system and that you have an IP extension before ordering or contact us if you are unsure.
