The Avalle Platform
Avalle is built on BroadWorks SIP based soft switch platform bringing together the best of both worlds; the reliability, functionality, rich application sets of a PBX with the flexibility and ubiquity of IP networks
Avalle is fully geographically redundant, featuring centralised decision making, policy management and call switching distributed across two London data centres.
Why should I use VoIP?
- Call charges are significantly reduced
- All call charges are significantly reduced
- Great call quality
- Call to other VoIP users are free
- VoIP can be used anywhere where there is a broadband or Wi-Fi connection; at home, on the train, in the airport etc.
- Avalle VoIP will give you considerable savings.
- Increased flexibility and phone system capabilities, without the expected capital investment.
With Avalle Hosted VoIP Solutions and pure IP solutions, there are many options for business.
How does a business use VoIP?
Using the Avalle IP system is the same as using a standard phone system, except with a host of additional features, and far flexibility. Users can have functionality added and removed by an in-house administrator, removing the need to be dependant upon an often expensive maintainer. You can control your own system.
Is VoIP only about saving money?
A VoIP solution is much more than this. One of the main attributes is that you can save on all your calls, with inter-user calls free. What you are also getting is a high spec phone system (features including: call centre functionality, CTI (computer telephony integration), call recording, call logging, and much more.), that can be self administered, with a wealth of facilities to promote your business in a positive and professional way. All this for a fraction of the normal cost.
If I work from home can I use my businesses VoIP network?
You can work anywhere as long as you have a broadband connection and your PC. You simply log on to your connection and use your Avalle SIP phone, or use the soft phone (link). You are then ready to make your calls.
What does a VoIP Telephony Solution cost?
If you choose the Hosted telephony route, the costs are minimal.
If you choose to buy the Avalle IP telephony solution, you it costs a fraction of the normal price for a system. You can use soft phones, or buy Polycom, Snom, Aastra, and other makes of SIP phones from Best4IP. Then you pay the monthly fee for your services, and rental of your broadband (ADSL). This will be substantially reduced, as you can have up to 12 users on 1 broadband connection, so no need for 12 lines for 12 simultaneous calls, and 12 line rentals!!
As the solutions can be predominantly managed from within the organisation, the on-going charges for engineering call outs, and maintenance are also greatly reduced.
Does this make my PBX redundant?
Not in every instance. Some PBXs have the resilience and capacity to add IP extensions. This means that you can expand your network to allow other offices within a group, or home-workers, to link over the internet (VoIP) to the office and then their calls go over traditional lines from there. This centralises the cost base (no more employees claiming for telephony from home), allows for greater management - all the calls are in to and out of one system so a call logger can keep track of employee productivity - and makes calls between employees and branches free.

Avalle Unity Desktop
Unity is a screen based programme that combines call control, Instant Messaging, system directories and a busy lamp field to enhance the user experience. In this way, Unity provides more information about incoming calls and makes it easier to transfer, place on hold or conference the caller. The User Status window also provides visual indication of whether colleagues are engaged or available to take a call. Advanced telephone features such as hotdesk login, call diverts and Follow Me services can also be configured through Unity.
Featuring an intuitive icon based interface, Unity provides:
- Point and click call control within the familiar desktop environment.
- Unity improves workgroup collaboration by bringing users closer to each other and simplifying internal and external communication.
- Unity is available in Lite and Pro variants
